Frank Congiusta

Orthopedic Surgeon

A board-certified total joint surgeon, Dr. Frank Congiusta was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University where he majored in Biology , played on the football team for four years and graduated with honors. He then attended Albany Medical College, graduating in 2000 with honors. He stayed on at Albany Medical Center where he completed his Orthopedic Surgical Residency. As a resident he developed a special interest in total hip and knee replacements. He then trained at the Anderson Orthopedic Institute in Alexandria, Virginia where he received his fellowship training in total joint replacements under the guidance of world renowned joint replacement surgeons.

Dr. Congiusta’s present areas of interest include unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (or partial knee replacement), minimally invasive techniques, outpatient total joint arthroplasty (where patients are back home within hours of their surgery), aggressive post-operative physical rehabilitation to return total joint patients to activities as quickly as possible and complex reconstructive procedures (including revision procedures).

Dr. Congiusta has served as Chairman of the Board of the Northeastern New York Chapter of the Arthritis Association and has been on the Board of Operation Walk Virginia for almost ten years.

He currently serves as the President of OrthoNY, the Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Peter’s Hospital and the medical director of the Everett Road Ambulatory Surgery Center in Albany, NY.
