Although many supplies are donated and team members are all volunteers, every other aspect of these mission trips is only possible through generous donations.
Each Operation Walk Virginia mission represents an immense logistical undertaking. On average, 8,000 pounds of supplies (such as prosthetics, surgical equipment, medications, bandages, crutches, etc.) must be shipped ahead to the host country and cleared through customs before the mission can even begin.
This is in addition to the cost of transporting team members as well.
On average, a typical trip to South or Central America costs nearly $150,000, including shipping charges.
100% of your contributions go toward expenses associated with joint replacements and training in third-world countries.

Operation Walk patients can return to local hospitals for any follow-up care that’s required at no cost. We communicate with our patients by phone and email to facilitate hospital visits and work closely with our local healthcare partners to share information and resources so that all our patients have the best possible outcomes. When the team returns to the same location, clinics are hosted to examine patients’ progress and to see their and their family’s success after surgery.
Operation Walk Virginia focuses on helping patients with the greatest need in developing countries with little to no access to healthcare.
However, thousands of patients in the United States are also in desperate need of life-saving joint replacement surgery. Prospective patients in the Northern Virginia area should contact the Anderson Orthopedic Clinic.
Prospective patients across the country can visit the Operation Walk USA website.
