Vera Broecker hails from South Carolina, where she grew up and studied nursing. Upon graduation from Clemson University, she entered the U.S. Army as an officer and a nurse. After five years in uniform, Vera followed her military-officer husband and worked as a nurse in various states and overseas.

Vera served as a post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nurse where she was introduced and started volunteering with Operation Walk Virginia. First volunteering as a nurse in the PACU, she is now the PACU team leader and serves on the Board of Directors.  

Vera lives in Northern Virginia and works as a clinic nurse at Anderson Orthopedic Clinic.
